A Tree Frames The Cathedral

When bad weather deviated my plans to visit the Wave, I retreated South to Sedona to photograph a few locations.  Taking a picture of the Cathedral Rock was one of the prime subjects I wanted to capture.  Research showed that along the Upper Red Rock Loop Road there were several scenic overlooks that were popular stops for photographic compositions with Cathedral Rock in the background.   This location is one of the first scenic overlook found along the Upper Red Rock Rock Loop Road that has this impressive Juniper tree.  Often used as a popular instagram poising point where people poise between the Y point of the tree, my visit to this location found that Cathedral Rock could be positioned behind the tree.  I also became acutely aware of some red sandstones in the foreground that offered a sweet leading line to the tree and as a direct line pointing to Cathedral Rock.
